Hey, that’s a great question! Unfortunately, it’s not as black and white as all that 🙁 It would depend on many factors, including how active you are in posting content, creating backlinks, guest posting, and other factors covered here. But the general rule is that increasing your domain authority is a marathon, not a sprint. With that said, it’s much easier to get from 0 to 20 than it would be to get from 60 to 80. So if you’re working at this consistently, getting a DA of 20 is totally feasible! Good luck to you!

how long should it take a website to increase its domain authority from 0 to 20? Weeks, months? Is it possible to state a interval of hours (min, max) spent link building?

Thank you
Maxim

Excellent points you have mentioned now I can know how I can increase my Blog’s DA. You are unquestionably right. Domain Authority is an overall website’s SEO score. Many webmaster SEO people do more wrong than good to their domain by spending for cheap links on Tumblr and other freelance sites.

In short, CONTENT IS KING, and then I would like to add an extension to that; TRAFFIC means royalty for the king. Smart SEO people and developers create a new site, produced high quality of content and distribute it into social medias, and after one week, their content went viral really fast, their sites have ranked up to #1 Google for Long Tail Keyword. Moreover, I think that having high-quality backlinks is the most important factor that makes a great impact on DA. Of course, there are loads of other factors that affect SEO; however, HQ backlinks are absolutely essential for a good DA level.

Anyways, thank you very much! I find this post to be very useful!

Thanks! I doubt if those old posts had backlinks as they sure weren’t worthy. My site has several hundred posts so there’s still plenty of older ones, so I’m not sure it’s tied to either of those possibilities (backlinks or site looking newer).

I didn’t realize that other sites growing their DA would decrease mine. Is that what you were saying?

Thanks!

I’m going to give you the lawyerly answer: it depends.

Since the content you de-indexed was earlier posts, it’s possible that other sites were linking to your content (which would give you higher authority). It’s also possible that your site looks a lot newer than it did before getting rid of the earlier posts.

And it’s also possible that highest-authority sites experience substantial link growth over the past several weeks, which would skew the scaling process.

I will say that when DA is on the lower end of the scoring scale it’s more vulnerable to scaling fluctuation.

I hope this helps!

The only change I’ve made other than just publishing new content as I always have is back about 6 weeks ago, I either de-indexed or moved to draft, some of my earliest posts which were bringing in zero traffic.

Could this have lowered my DA score?
